Most people would rather own than rent/lease. Whether it is our home, our car, and yes even our power, we would rather own it. People tell me all the time, “If I could pay the same amount to own my electricity as it costs to continue to rent it from the utility company, I’d rather own it.”

I couldn’t agree more. I have also come to realize that we as Americans have a fundamental belief that we can shape our own destiny. Our forefathers taught us that.

Americans all across the country, and especially here in California, are declaring Energy Independence by going solar. It’s happening in unprecedented numbers. The word is out. Going solar is the most cost effective way to declare our energy independence.

Federal and State incentives are currently covering about 30% of the cost of residential and commercial solar. Energy costs are skyrocketing in southern California with no end in sight. We are, at the same time blessed with 300+ days of sunshine in our state.

Let us, Californians, take action and lead our great nation in ushering in the new Green Economy.
